A set of a teapot, "samashi" and 6teacups: best suited for brewing high quality sencha and gyokuro tea. Since relatively low temperature with small amount of water is required for high grade green tea, these cups are ideal shape and size to serve these teas. The "samashi" is a boat-shaped bowl as shown on photos, which is used to cool down boiled water to the right temperature. These works were created using daido and mitake clay, applied a clear glaze, and done in reductional fire with a temperature of 1240 degrees.
